Rocío is a Senior Associate in the Financial and Banking Law department and joined the Firm in 2020.
As a lawyer with over 15 years’ experience in different areas related to financial and banking law, including litigation, recoveries, real estate and legal advice, she has worked for various top-tier financial institutions.
Rocío specialises in mortgage regulations, consumer and user regulations, payment services, bills of exchange, national and international guarantees subject to foreign legislation or international regulations (URDG758, UCP 600, ISP98), and in the analysis, writing and preparation of banking contracts for assets, secured by mortgage and also atypical guarantees, specialised financing contracts and contracting derived from Financing Agreements and claims before the Customer Service Department and the Bank of Spain.
Currently, Rocío is in charge of coordinating external legal advice for CaixaBank in the areas of retail banking, business centres and corporate banking.
Previously, she also led the external legal advice service for Bankia’s network of branches (for individuals and businesses) and central services (risk, recovery, audit, etc.). She also worked in the Real Estate Department of Banco Santander, where she was responsible for negotiating the sale, rental and subletting of premises. She also worked in the Recovery Department of Banesto and Grupo Santander. Previously, she spent the first five years of her career as a litigation lawyer.
